Dimon Wilson, president of the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), arrived in Taiwan for a visit on the evening of the 27th and will stay until the 30th.
According to a press release issued by the relevant Taiwan authorities on the 28th, Wilson will visit Taiwan from March 27th to 30th. The foundation has close interaction with the Taiwan authorities. Under his instigation, the Taiwan authorities established the Taiwan Democracy Foundation in 2003.
According to the report, Wilson will hold a press conference during his visit, announcing that he will cooperate with the Taiwan Democracy Foundation to hold the “World Democracy Movement” global conference in Taipei from October 24 to 27 this year. This is the first time the conference has been held in Taiwan, and it is also one of the commitments made by the Taiwan authorities in response to the US “Democracy Summit”.
In addition to encouraging the Taiwan authorities to set up the Taiwan Democracy Foundation, the National Institute for International Democracy (NDI) and the American International Republican Institute (IRI), which will come to Taiwan to complete their establishment in 2021, are also sponsored by NED.
The National Endowment for Democracy is a non-governmental organization funded by the US government and established in Washington in 1983. It is the “pawn” of the US democracy export strategy. It infiltrated and subverted the legitimate regimes of other countries in the name of exporting democracy, causing serious dissatisfaction in the international community.
