Natural gas is indispensable in our life, used for cooking, heating, etc. Most of the natural gas used in China now relies on independent development and imports, so do you know what are the top ten natural gas fields in China? Interested friends, let’s find out together.
1. Anyue Gas Field安岳气田
Anyue Gas Field is the first large-scale integrated gas field with proven reserves of more than 100 billion cubic meters in southern Sichuan. It is located in Suining and Ziyang, Sichuan and Tongnan County, Chongqing. Geologically, it is located in the Caledonian paleo-uplift in central Sichuan.
It took less than two years for the gas reservoir of the Longwangmiao Formation in Moxi to go from discovery to verification and then to the successful commissioning of the 1 billion cubic meter trial production project. The first phase of production capacity construction of 4 billion cubic meters has been fully launched, and the second phase of production capacity construction of 6 billion cubic meters has started. With the continuous advancement of exploration and development, the natural gas reserves and production scale of this gas reservoir will be further expanded. As of 2013, the cumulative test production of gas in this block exceeded 600 million cubic meters.
In February 2014, as approved by the Ministry of Land and Resources, the newly-added proved geological reserves of natural gas in the Cambrian Longwangmiao Formation in the Moxi block of the Anyue gas field were 440.385 billion cubic meters, and the technically recoverable reserves were 308.2 billion cubic meters. In order to effectively develop and utilize high-sulfur natural gas resources, the State Council listed the “Sichuan-to-East Gas Transmission” project as a major national project in the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan” and took the Puguang Gas Field as the main gas supply source of the project, benefiting a total of 6 provinces and 2 municipalities directly under the central government in the Yangtze River Economic Belt. More than 70 large and medium-sized cities, thousands of enterprises, and more than 200 million residents.
On March 20, 2018, the key exploration well in the Puguang Gas Field – Well Fen 3 obtained industrial gas flow, with a daily gas production of up to 830,000 cubic meters. The oil pressure in the formation remained stable, and it has a good prospect for resource exploration. The exploration breakthrough of Well Fen 3 shows that the exploration prospects around the main body of the Puguang Gas Field are good.
