On April 15th, the Yunnan Provincial Department of Education issued a notice regarding the opening of the spring semester in 2020. If the requirements for the semester are met, the general middle school and vocational school can start school from April 20, and the fourth, fifth, and fifth elementary schools from April 26. The sixth grade can start school. From May 6th, the first, second, and third grades of elementary school can start. From May 6th, the college grades can start. From May 11th, the non-graduation grades can start.
Combining the COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control situation, the Yunnan Provincial Department of Education made the following arrangements for the opening of non-graduation grades and elementary schools in the province’s higher schools, vocational schools, ordinary middle schools:
Each state and municipal government shall evaluate the “one school, one case” for the prevention and control of COVID-19 epidemic situation in ordinary middle schools and vocational schools in the region one by one. Schools that meet the requirements for starting school can start school from April 20; those who fail to meet the requirements for starting school will be suspended.
Counties, cities, and district governments should evaluate the “one school, one case” for the prevention and control of COVID-19 epidemic situation in elementary schools in the region. Schools that meet the requirements for starting school can start school in the fourth, fifth, and sixth grades of elementary school from April 26, and can start school in the first, second, and third grade of elementary school from May 6;
Under the guidance of the territorial government, colleges and universities mainly research and judge the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic situation. The “one school and one policy” formulates the school opening plan and reports it to the Provincial Department of Education for record. Those who meet the requirements for starting school can start school on May 6, and the non-graduating classes can start school on May 11. If they fail to meet the requirements, the school will be suspended.
Pre-primary education and special education schools will be notified in due time. In addition, foreign teachers and international students will not return to school without notice.
The Yunnan Provincial Department of Education stated that in order to make up for the teaching time affected by the epidemic, schools in various places can complete teaching tasks by optimizing teaching arrangements and appropriately adjusting the holidays and summer vacation time.
