I. The overall situation of the domestic mobile phone market
In December 2020, the overall domestic mobile phone market shipments were 26.595 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 12.6%; from January to December, the total domestic mobile phone market shipments totaled 308 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 20.8%.
In December 2020, 45 new models of domestic mobile phones were launched, a year-on-year increase of 28.6%. From January to December, a total of 462 new models were launched, a year-on-year decrease of 19.4%.
Second, the development of 5G mobile phones
In December 2020, the domestic market shipped 18.2 million 5G mobile phones, accounting for 68.4% of the mobile phone shipments during the same period; 19 new models were launched, accounting for 42.2% of the number of new mobile phone models launched in the same period. From January to December, the cumulative shipment of 5G mobile phones in the domestic market was 163 million, and the total number of new models on the market was 218, accounting for 52.9% and 47.2% respectively.
3. The composition of domestic and foreign brands in the domestic mobile phone market
In December 2020, domestic brand mobile phone shipments were 20.553 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 22.8%, accounting for 77.3% of mobile phone shipments during the same period; 38 new models were launched, an increase of 26.7% year-on-year, accounting for the number of new mobile phone models listed in the same period Of 84.4%. From January to December, domestic brand mobile phone shipments totaled 270 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 23.5%, accounting for 87.5% of mobile phone shipments in the same period; a total of 413 new models on the market, a year-on-year decrease of 18.7%, accounting for new mobile phones listed in the same period 89.4% of the number of types.
Four. Development of domestic smartphones
In December 2020, smartphone shipments totaled 25.218 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 12.8%, accounting for 94.8% of mobile phone shipments during the same period. From January to December, the cumulative shipment of smart phones was 296 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 20.4%, accounting for 96.0% of mobile phone shipments in the same period.
In December 2020, 40 new smartphone models were launched, an increase of 48.1% year-on-year, accounting for 88.9% of the number of new models launched in the same period. From January to December, a total of 363 new smartphone models were launched, a year-on-year decrease of 14.4%, accounting for 78.6% of the number of new models launched in the same period.
