Today, we will take a look at the top 12 cities in China from the perspective of software revenue. In terms of software revenue, Beijing (1567.74 billion yuan), Shenzhen (791.17 billion yuan), Shanghai (647.95 billion yuan), Nanjing (590.06 billion yuan), Hangzhou (566.49 billion yuan), Guangzhou (488.7 billion yuan), Chengdu (401.33 billion yuan), Jinan (316.07 billion yuan), Xi’an (273.25 billion yuan), Qingdao (233.82 billion yuan), Tianjin (228.67 billion yuan), Wuhan (2009.20 billion yuan). Comparing the software revenue single item with the economic aggregate, the top 12 cities have reshuffled, and the membership and order have undergone great changes.
Nanjing No. 4
Last year, Nanjing only earned RMB 1,481.795 billion, making it into the top 10 nationwide again after many years. In fact, due to Nanjing’s population, the economic aggregate is one of its shortcomings. In the latest census, Nanjing has only a resident population of 9,314,700, which has no advantage compared with cities of Hangzhou, Wuhan, Chengdu, and Chongqing.
However, even so, Nanjing can still be compared with Hangzhou, Wuhan, Chengdu and other cities in terms of overall strength, because of Nanjing’s outstanding performance in other aspects. Software revenue should be a representative of it.
In 2020, Nanjing’s software revenue will reach 590.06 billion yuan, ranking fourth in the country, second only to Beijing, Shenzhen, and Shanghai. At the same time, its growth rate is as high as 14.6%, which exceeds that of Shanghai. Among them, Nanjing’s increase is 75.173 billion yuan. Shanghai is 72.506 billion yuan.
Jinan and Xi’an shortlisted
In today’s rankings of comprehensive strength or economic aggregates, Jinan and Xi’an are not among the top ten in the country, or even the top 15 in the country. Although one is the capital of the third economically largest province, the other is the central city of the Northwest Region.
But it did it in terms of software revenue. In 2020, Jinan software revenue is 316.07 billion yuan, ranking 8th in the country; Xi’an software revenue is 273.25 billion yuan, ranking 9th in the country. Take Jinan as an example. Jinan is in the forefront of the province and even the country in the big data industry development pilot demonstration, industrial Internet pilot demonstration, and 5G pilot demonstration carried out by the state and the province. In terms of software revenue from January to July this year, it increased by 24.4% year-on-year, ranking second in the country.
Wuhan bottoms out
In terms of comprehensive strength, Wuhan must be among the top ten in the country, which is beyond doubt. Even during the special period last year, Wuhan’s economy experienced negative growth, and it still ranked ninth in the country with 156.161 billion yuan.
But in terms of software revenue, Wuhan is not a strong point. Wuhan’s software revenue in 2020 will be 20,092 billion yuan, ranking 12th in the country. However, Wuhan’s software industry has developed rapidly, with an average annual growth rate of more than 20% in the past 7 years, becoming a major or two point in Wuhan’s industry in the fields of the Internet, basic software, optical communications embedded software, and geospatial information. With small advantages, excellent software business companies such as Fiberhome Communication Technology Co., Ltd., Xiaomi Technology (Wuhan) Co., Ltd., and Wuhan Wuyi Yuntong Network Technology Co., Ltd. have emerged.
