China’s Highest AI Award Is Awarded To The First Person In China’s Autonomous Driving

The 10th Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Science and Technology Award was officially awarded.
The Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Highest Achievement Award, known as “the highest honor in the field of artificial intelligence in China”, was awarded to Li Deyi, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and autonomous driving leader, with a bonus of 1 million yuan.
Prior to this, only two academicians Zhang Bo and Lu Ruqian received this honor.
In addition, Dr. Zhou Bowen from Jingdong Group, Professor Jiang Tianzi from the Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Professor Jiao Licheng from Xidian University were awarded the “Wu Wenjun Outstanding Contribution Award for Artificial Intelligence”.
It is worth mentioning that the “Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Special Award Chip Project” was also set up for the first time this year, awarding teams and individuals who have made original and advanced achievements in the field of AI chips.
The highest award of China’s AI was awarded to Academician Li Deyi
“China’s highest AI award”-Wu Wenjun’s highest achievement award in artificial intelligence, currently only three people have won.
Since its establishment in 2011, the highest achievement award has been vacant for seven years, and it was not awarded for the first time until 2018.
In 2018, the highest achievement award was awarded for the first time to one of the pioneers and pioneers in the field of artificial intelligence in my country. Lu Ruqian, a researcher at the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was awarded to the professor of the Department of Computer Science of Tsinghua University for the second time last year. Academician Zhang Bo of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Academician Li Deyi is the third scientist to receive this honor.
Academician Li Deyi was born on November 28, 1944 in Tai County, Jiangsu.
In 1967, Li Deyi graduated from the Radio Department of Nanjing Institute of Technology (now Southeast University), under the tutelage of He Zhenya, a famous electronic information scientist in my country; in 1983, he obtained a PhD from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, UK.
Academician Li Deyi has achieved a number of international leading achievements in cognitive models, intelligent control, uncertainty reasoning, data mining, and autonomous driving.
He is a major pioneer in the field of uncertain artificial intelligence in my country, an active leader in unmanned driving, and an important promoter of the development of artificial intelligence industry, academia, and research.
From the perspective of his academic career, Academician Li Deyi has participated in the research and development of a number of major electronic information system projects. First proposed the control flow-data flow graph pair theory and a set of methods to be implemented in logic language.
In his acceptance speech, Academician Li Deyi said:
China has taken the lead in putting forward the “new generation of artificial intelligence development strategy” in the world. Bravely breaking into no man’s land is the responsibility and responsibility of Chinese artificial intelligence technology workers.
About Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Technology Award
The Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Science and Technology Award is named after Wu Wenjun, a pioneer in artificial intelligence and the first prize winner of the first National Highest Science and Technology Award.
This award, known as “China’s highest award for intelligent science and technology”, was initiated by the Chinese Society of Artificial Intelligence to reward important discoveries in intelligent scientific research, or to conquer key core technologies in the field of artificial intelligence, and promote major progress in scientific and technological progress. The unit or individual.
The 10th Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Science and Technology Award changed the nomination method. Since the beginning of this year, nominations for awards have changed from being recommended by units to experts, scholars, relevant departments and institutions, etc., making the selection more fair.
During the selection of the 10th Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Science and Technology Award, a total of 305 nominated projects were received, of which 238 nominated projects entered the conference’s preliminary evaluation and final evaluation defense. In the end, only 100 award-winning project results were selected.
In addition to the Highest Achievement Award and Outstanding Contribution Award, this year’s selection projects also include Natural Science Award, Technological Invention Award, Science and Technology Progress Award, and Outstanding Youth Award Special Award-Chip Project.
