A few days ago, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology released an analysis report on the operation of the domestic mobile phone market in November 2020. The report shows that in November 2020, 5G mobile phone shipments in the domestic market reached 20,136, 000 units, accounting for 68.1% of mobile phone shipments in the same period.
In November 2020, the overall domestic mobile phone market shipments reached 29.584 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 15.1%; from January to November, the total domestic mobile phone market shipments totaled 281 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 21.5%. In November 2020, 30 new models of domestic mobile phones were launched, a year-on-year decrease of 46.4%. From January to November, there were a total of 417 new models on the market, down 22.5% year-on-year.
There are 16 new models of 5G mobile phones on the market, accounting for 53.3% of the number of new models on the market in the same period. From January to November, the cumulative shipments of 5G mobile phones in the domestic market reached 144 million units, and the total number of new models on the market was 199, accounting for 51.4% and 47.7% respectively.
In November 2020, domestic brand mobile phone shipments reached 22.680 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 27.7%, accounting for 76.7% of mobile phone shipments during the same period; 27 new models on the market, a year-on-year decrease of 42.6%, accounting for new mobile phone models launched in the same period 90.0% of the quantity. From January to November, domestic brand mobile phone shipments totaled 249 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 23.6%, accounting for 88.5% of mobile phone shipments in the same period; a total of 375 new models on the market, a year-on-year decrease of 21.5%, accounting for new mobile phones listed in the same period 89.9% of the number of types.
In terms of domestic smartphones, in November 2020, smartphone shipments reached 27.710 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 17.0%, accounting for 93.7% of mobile phone shipments in the same period. From January to November, smartphone shipments totaled 271 million units, down 21.1% year-on-year and accounting for 96.1% of mobile phone shipments during the same period. In November 2020, there were 25 new models of domestic smartphones on the market, a year-on-year decrease of 26.5%, accounting for 83.3% of the number of new models on the market in the same period. From January to November, a total of 323 new smartphone models were launched, a year-on-year decrease of 18.6%, accounting for 77.5% of the number of new models launched in the same period.
