At a press conference held by the Shanghai Municipal Government this morning, a spokesman for the Shanghai Health and Health Commission reported that from 0 to 24:00 on April 12, Shanghai reported 11 cases of imported COVID-19 confirmed diagnosis through the joint port defense and joint control mechanism. All the cases have been transferred to designated medical institutions for treatment, and 90 people who have been in close contact with the flight have been tracked. All have been concentrated and isolated for observation.
Spokesperson of Shanghai Municipal Health and Health Commission Zheng Jin: On April 10th, after the arrival of Aeroflot SU208 flight to Shanghai, Shanghai Customs implemented a quarantine inspection. The disease control department immediately carried out nucleic acid testing on the suspects found by the customs, and 51 nucleic acid test results were positive. Afterwards, the disease control department conducted a second round of nucleic acid tests on other suspected cases on the flight, and nine people tested positive for nucleic acids. After organizing consultations with city-level medical treatment experts, comprehensive epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests and imaging findings, a total of 60 confirmed cases were diagnosed, all of which were promptly sent to designated medical institutions for centralized isolation treatment. Other passengers on the same plane have all implemented centralized isolation medical observation measures.
