Guangzhou Will Host The 2021 Chinese Super League

The Chinese Football Association officially sent a notice to the Guangzhou Football Association today, confirming the 2021 Chinese Super League Guangzhou as one of the two hosting competition areas.
On February 28th, the Chinese Football Association and the “Professional League” have received signature confirmation forms for player wages sent by the relevant participating clubs in the Chinese Super League, Chinese A and Chinese B professional leagues. After review, the Chinese Football Association is expected to officially announce the list of clubs participating in this year’s third-tier league in mid-March and determine the specific schedule and competition system.
At the same time, the Chinese Football Association has sent confirmation letters to the Guangzhou Football Association and the Suzhou Football Association, confirming that Guangzhou and Suzhou will become the two competition areas to host this year’s Super League.
As a matter of fact, the Guangzhou Football Association has accepted the field visits by the Chinese Football Association and the “Professional League” working group as early as the beginning of this year, and has fully initiated the preparations for this year’s Super League.
According to the Chinese Football Association’s request for the undertaking of the Super League area issued by the Guangzhou Football Association, the Guangzhou Football Association applied to the Guangzhou Sports Bureau to undertake the work, and the application was approved by the Guangzhou Municipal People’s Government. Next, the Guangzhou Football Association will carry out corresponding detailed preparatory work in various aspects such as site rectification, competition organization, competition area reception, epidemic prevention, security, and volunteer services in the Super League.
According to the current preliminary plan of the Chinese Football Association, this year’s Super League will kick off from around April 20th until December 5th. The whole process is divided into 3 stages, and each team needs to play 30 rounds. The first stage of the competition is divided into two sub-segments. The gap period in between is reserved for the national team to prepare for the top 40 matches. A total of 14 rounds are played. In the first stage of the event, the Guangzhou Division is expected to undertake training, competitions, board and lodging for eight Chinese Super League teams.
Less than one and a half months before the start of the Super League, the preparatory work in all aspects of the Guangzhou Division has entered the final stage. At present, the Guangzhou competition area has basically identified Tianhe Stadium, Yuexiushan Stadium, University City Stadium, and Huadu Stadium as the competition venues. The training venue and reception hotel are still being finalized. The relevant working group of the Chinese Football Association is expected to arrive in Guangzhou this week to determine the final contracting plan with the Guangzhou Football Association.
