China's Military Academies And Enrollment Conditions

What is a military academy?

1. Overview of military school students
Military academies refer to students who are selected by military academies from the national unified enrollment examinations according to the needs of military construction and are uniformly assigned by the military after graduation. They are also called military academies.
2. Treatment of cadets
As the saying goes: “A little bit of hard work, no amount of gain.” Although the requirements of military academies are indeed stricter than those of ordinary universities, the advantages of military academies are also obvious. This is why many children and parents are determined to go to military academies.
3. Appointment and title after graduation
The military academy’s distribution principles are “planned distribution, need to be supplemented, oriented to the grassroots, professional counterparts, and rational use.”
Under normal circumstances, those assigned to the grassroots units will be appointed as active-duty officers; those assigned to colleges, scientific research and other units and engaged in teaching, medical, and scientific research work, most of them will be appointed as civilian cadres.
4. Military school education
As an important part of national higher education, military academy education is consistent with the educational system and academic qualifications of local colleges and universities. Both the state and the military recognize their academic qualifications! That is, undergraduates generally last 4 years, medical colleges last 5 years, and some are 7 years; undergraduate graduates are generally awarded a bachelor’s degree; the college degree is 3 years.

What are the basic requirements for enrollment in military academies?

The county-level People’s Armed Forces Department, in conjunction with the county’s admissions office, the police station where the candidates are registered, and the middle school where they are located, organize the implementation.
Political assessment conclusions are divided into qualified and unqualified. The assessment conclusion will be notified by the county People’s Armed Forces Department of the candidate’s middle school, and candidates who fail the assessment will not participate in the interview or physical examination. If there are objections to the assessment conclusion, the county People’s Armed Forces Department shall organize a reconsideration.

The result of the reconsideration is the final conclusion.

Military inspection is a screening process. Candidates are asked to maintain a normal diet and hygiene in the three days before the military inspection, and make relevant physical and psychological preparations.
Does applying for military academies affect other batches of admission?
The enrollment batches of military academies are approved in advance. Those who have not been admitted can be admitted according to the subsequent batches filled in by them, such as undergraduate batches and junior college batches.
It means that applying for the military will not affect the admission of other batches, on the contrary, it also increases the chance of being admitted. Therefore, students who meet the requirements but hesitate can boldly fill in.
